The Pristine North Caribou Mountains with its numerous rivers, swamps, lakes and streams surrounding cut blocks provide excellent moose habitat. Bowron River Valley is one of the largest wintering ranges in the north caribous.  The area provides the largest moose population in central British Columbia. Mature bulls harvested range from 30 to 58 inches.
